The City of Pelham has a number of volunteer Boards and Commissions, so there is no shortage of opportunities for residents to engage with local government and serve the community.

Board of Adjustments and Appeals

The Board of Adjustments and Appeals makes decisions on variance requests related to the Building and Fire Codes. Read more about the Board of Adjustments and Appeals.

Board of Education

The Board of Education is vested with all powers necessary and proper for the control, administration, and management of Pelham City Schools. Read more about the Board of Education.

Personnel Board

The Personnel Board is charged with carrying out the provisions of the Civil Service Act and developing a comprehensive civil service system. Members also hear and render decisions relative to disciplinary matters. Read more about the Personnel Board.

Commercial Development Authority (CDA)

The CDA works closely with the mayor, city manager, and city council to develop and execute strategies to maintain and attract new commercial entities in the city. Read more about the Commercial Development Authority.

Library Board

The Pelham Library Board works in partnership with the staff to promote all the Library offers, create and achieve long-term goals, and fundraising. Read more about the Library Board.

Parks and Recreation Advisory Board

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board makes recommendations on fiscal matters and department policies, procedures, and operations. It provides feedback on the planning for capital projects and park maintenance and makes recommendations on providing diverse recreation services and programs. Storm Water Board

Planning Commission
